Aguinaldo International School was founded in 1999 as a ‘Science High School’ for gifted students, and in 2008 it shifted to become an ‘International School’. The school is now under the direction of a Canadian superintendent, Mr. Tim Boulton.
The school is well on its way to becoming a fully-fledged international school. It has a Canadian superintendent, top-notch facilities, small class sizes, a curriculum aligned with international standards, a growing number of expat students, several specialty subjects including ‘International Studies’, ‘Modern Languages’, ‘Health Science’, ‘Environmental Science’, ‘Film Studies’, ‘English Grammar’ and more.
Aside from that, the school also hires excellent teachers with solid English, international experience and the ability to deliver dynamic student-centered lessons focused on the attainment of deep understandings and the application of relevant 21st-century skills. The school is currently working on adding the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and International Baccalaureate programme and attain international accreditation.
The school offers education levels from preschool to secondary education. For the primary level, the school believes that early development occurs best in an enriched environment where each child is encouraged and challenged but neither hurried nor hindered. For primary level, the teachers at this school create a joyful and caring classroom atmosphere with just the right amount of structure and discipline.
Instruction is personalized for each student; Aguinaldo International School can do this because their classrooms have small student/teacher ratios. The teachers aim to build each child’s self esteem, confidence and independence whilst developing a caring attitude for others and the world. Advancing on to the secondary level, the schools’ unique curriculum focuses on the attainment of digital literacy (ICT), inventive thinking, interpersonal skills and quality products
The school also offers quality facilities which includes two gymnasia, a ‘Junior Olympic Size’ swimming pool, a fully-equipped fitness training room, an indoor soccer court, two canteens, a music room, computer labs, an art room, three science laboratories, a playground, a library containing a total of 44,500 books, a 300-seat capacity auditorium, and a 500-seat Fine Arts Theatre.
