Sunshine International House Clearwater Bay is an international preschool conveniently located in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The school offers a play-based preschool curriculum to students in an around the New Territories. The school follows a purpose to act as the stepping stone for children into the world of learning. The school has two divisions – playgroup and preschool.
The preschool has two sister schools in Sunshine International House Tung Chung and Sunshine International House Discovery Bay.
The playgroup division caters to children aged 12 months to 30 months. The school’s lessons are designed to help children make sense of their world. Learning, at this level, is mostly based on the play since the school recognises play to be an integral part of learning.
Every day, students take part in a lot of activities such as arts and crafts, singing, dancing and storytimes. Students also take their first steps in language learning as they are taught English and Putonghua at this stage.
At the preschool stage, children learn the next level of English and Putonghua. This stage caters to students aged 2 to 6 years of age. Every day, children participate in Putonghua sessions for around 40 minutes. Apart from language learning, students also learn literacy and numeracy.
Sunshine International House Clearwater Bay follows the British National Curriculum and The Early Years Foundation Stage. The school puts immense emphasis on honing the creativity of children. Its programmes are tailored to meet the needs of the multi-cultural background of students.
Apart from its normal curriculum, Sunshine International House Clearwater Bay also offers several after school enrichment programmes. They are conducted in subjects such as Maths and English as well as teaching students critical skills such as cooking, life skills, etc. These help in igniting interest for different subjects in students from an early age.
By the time students graduate, they are ready to take on the challenges of the primary curriculum in any reputable international school in Hong Kong.
