International British Academy Manila

The International British Academy Manila was founded as a school in November 2001, to provide a British education for English-speaking students of all nationalities from age three to seventeen. The school started with just 3 classrooms and 35 students.  The school received its recognition from the Philippines Department of Education for its preschool, primary school and high school in early 2006.

The school believes that while striving for academic excellence, it is crucial to bring out what is best in each child.  The competent, dedicated and caring teachers guide students to develop their full intellectual, creative and physical potential with goals of fostering self-esteem, independence, intellectual curiosity and moral character.

Rapid Growth

From it’s 2001 inception, The International British Academy Manila started with just 3 classrooms and 35 students, originally located at Km. 30 Gen. Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmariñas, Cavite. The school’s population quickly increased to 156, just 3.5 years after it started its operation and outgrew the Dasmariñas site.

IBA moved to a new and bigger facility in Imus, Cavite in April 2005. As of 2015-2016, its population has grown to 424 students representing 34 different nationalities.

British Educational Standards

The International British Academy Manila is a leading educational institution recognized for its commitment to transform it’s students into citizens who are globally competitive, who have a strong sense of values, and who have a strong drive to contribute to society. The school will be recognized both locally and internationally for its high academic standards in the best traditions of a British education.

The International British Academy has a policy to ensure that the class sizes remain small. For primary level, 15 to 25 students while secondary level the amount of students in class is between 15 to 30 students Students are introduced to specialised teaching in core subjects: Mathematics, Science and English starting in Year 3.

In addition, specialist teachers instruct students in Music, Art, ICT and Physical Education, from Year 1 to Year 12.  Mandarin is required starting in Year 3 and continues on to be a compulsory subject until Year 8.
