Founded in 1983, the Chinese International School (CIS) seeks stability and innovation while maintaining its reputation as a school with dual-language curriculum and International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum. The school first opened it’s doors more than 35 years ago, with just 75 students and the goal of establishing a dual language education system.
Today there are at least 1,500 students made up from over a thousand different families and consisting of more than thirty different nationalities, at the acclaimed school considered one of the best international schools on Hong Kong Island, with CIS alumni thriving in various institutes of higher learning, and a varied range of professions throughout the world. Ten years after it was initially launched, the Chinese International School begin to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme in 1992. Another ten years after that, CIS became the first International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) school in the whole of Hong Kong.
