Yew Chung International School Primary Campus

Yew Chung International School Primary Campus offers Year 1 to Year 6 to primary students. It caters to ages 5 to 11. The school programme is divided into two parts – Lower Primary and Upper Primary.

The campus is centrally located in Kowloon Tong, walking distance from the Kowloon Tong MTR. This school is a part of the Yew Chung International School and has sister campuses in Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Qingdao and Silicon Valley.

Upon completion of the primary school programme, the students can further their secondary education at Yew Chung International School Secondary Campus. There is also a school for pre-schoolers at Yew Chung International School Early Childhood Education.

International School Primary Education in Hong Kong

Classes are conducted in a purpose-built building, equipped with modern classrooms, swimming pool, basketball court and other modern facilities. The school is committed to providing an interactive global education where students grow up in a multicultural and bilingual learning environment.

The lower primary division caters to students aged 5 to 8 while the upper primary division is for students aged 9 to 11. Most of the subjects are taught in English. The school provides immense emphasis on Chinese language learning. The seeds of learning the Chinese language are sown in the lower primary levels.

Bilingual International School Environment

There are Chinese teachers who read stories to children. The school also offers a Chinese Language and Studies programme. The lower primary level also focuses on character development, music lessons, art classes and sports. Students take part in excursions and trips which provide them with added educational experience. As a part of this, students visit Hong Kong’s parks and museums.

In the upper primary programme, the focus remains on the development of independence and freedom. Children pick up important skills such as critical-thinking skills at this level.

The school increases its focus on Chinese language learning and students have to study the language one hour everyday base don their learning level. Like the lower primary level, students learn character-building, art, music and sports. They also take part in a number of educational trips, overnight camps and excursions.
