Thalun International Preschool is a premier preschool in Yangon which follows a creative curriculum. The curriculum has been designed following the play-based philosophy and is structured on inquiry and discovery through play. This curriculum involved 7 domains of learning – personal, social and emotional growth; physical development; and communication and language. Students learn core skills during the time at the preschool including literacy, maths, understanding the world, and arts. The curriculum aids the development of young children and prepares them to face the challenges of primary education.
The school believes that every child is competent and capable of learning having an innate curiosity about the world around us. The school encourages the children to observe, listen, question and challenge everything around them in order to promote their learning. The school acknowledges parents to be the first teachers of students and hence parental involvement plays a big role in the learning journey. Hence, students undergo the same kind of learning at home and in school which helps them to assimilate the knowledge in a better way.
Thalun creates a closely-knit community where students, educators, parents and staff are included in the learning process. All of them together go through the social, emotional and intellectual experiences which form an integral part of the learning journey of every student. The school keeps the community at its centre and creates a warm and supportive environment where every child feels included. It seeks to create an academic home for children with a positive environment is integral to the success of the school.
Thalun also strives a balance between academics and co-curricular activities to ensure children enjoy a holistic development. Academically, the school prepares students for success in their higher education in schools and colleges. It provides every kind of support to aid the personal development of children.
