Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur (FISKL) is an IB World School with a network of five schools across Malaysia. Fairview International School (FIS) is Malaysia’s leading International School group offering the full IB curriculum package. The Fairview group currently has five authorised IB World Schools which are authorised to provide 10 IB programmes. The Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur campus was established in 1978. It caters to the needs of students from preschool to Year 13, which results in the widely recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The intensive and highly individualised coursework provides the whole suite of the IB curriculum. The pupils at FISKL are encouraged to share and discover in an environment of mastering skills that jointly embraces individual abilities.
The Kuala Lumpur campus of Fairview in Wangsa Maju is host to Malaysia’s first IB World School that has been approved to provide the entire range of IB, PYP, MYP, and DP programmes. It is nestled just 15 minutes from the center of town, surrounded by a lush forest reserve which supports for a conducive learning environment, with its serene and green environment. The campus embraces the philosophy of the IB while the students are also given an opportunity to develop in creativity and innovation.
Fairview International School follows the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3 to 12 years, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16, and the IB Diploma Programme for students aged 16 to 19 years. The aim of these programmes is to motivate students to become responsible, active, and compassionate individuals with a lifelong love for learning. They strive to develop individuals who embrace diversity through respect and understanding.
The school provides experiential learning in the form of expedition and excursions to local and international destinations. Community and service also form an important part of the school curriculum, encouraging the students to actively participate in different projects such as environmental project, charity events and more. The school has also introduced a Mandarin Programme considering its growing importance in the global sphere.
In recent times, the school campus has seen transitional changes, including physical alterations to the infrastructure such as making the campus more accessible, equipped with wireless high-speed broadband services, and the much-needed facilities fit for an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The academic faculty and teaching staff has also undergone a significant number of changes in personnel.
