IGB International School is a vibrant Early Years to Grade 12 international school that provides a dynamic, innovative and inclusive learning environment where students are challenged to excel in both their learning and personal growth. IGB International School is also known as IGBIS and is an inclusive learning community where the student base are groomed with a challenging yet all inclusive, nurturing education that is all inclusive.
In the school’s brief life span, IGBIS has already been accredited by many international and regional organisations and bodies, including the Council of International Schools (CIS), NEASC, EARCOS, and more. The community that is being built at their area’s location in Sungai Buloh is committed to seeing through the school’s vision of supplying an innovative international education that inspires their learners to make a positive impact on the world- hence the school’s motto of “Igniting Minds, Impacting Lives”.
An International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, IGBIS is the only school in Malaysia authorised for the full continuum of IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), and the Career-related Programme (CP).
IB World Schools of this calibre mostly share a common philosophy: a commitment to a high quality, challenging, and an international education that IGBIS believes is important for our students. In an inclusive learning community, students receive a challenging, caring and holistic education.
The team of internationally experienced IB educators are trained to deliver an integrated, 21st-century curriculum, empowering the students base to strive to be lifelong learners, who aim to make a positive contribution towards our global society. All IGBIS staff and faculty are encouraged to think outside the box, and likewise steer their pupils to think and problem solve independently and creatively. This self sufficient, problem solving mindset is reflected in the school’s curriculum.
In addition to the four IB programmes, IGBIS runs a Fireflies Programme, a half-day or full-day programme for two-year-olds; and a Pre-DP Programme, which prepares students from a non-IB background for the challenges of the IB Diploma Programme. Over 35% of the last IB Diploma batch managed to obtain at least 40 points or more in their Diploma examinations.
Unlike the more senior programmes which follow the International Baccalaureate curriculum, the Early Years and Kindergarten modules (for ages 2 to 6) at IGBIS have been developed with their own programme in mind, with a philosophy of developing the whole child.
The school aims to provide and foster the relationships, environments, and prospective learning opportunities that will round out the child’s abilities. Some of the means by which the child will be able to express his or herself will be through writing, reading, speech, drawing, painting, different play styles, music, and several more.
The IGB International school is well connected by the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) and Middle Ring Road (MRR2), making it readily accessible from all parts of the city. Coming from Bangsar and Damansara will take approximately 20 minutes, and even less from the Mont Kiara area. The school is very close to the railway station on the KTM Komuter’s Rawang-Seremban Route, and the Sungai Buloh MRT station adjacent to the school grounds.
