The Austin Heights International School offers a high quality international pre-school, primary and secondary education, catering for students between the ages of 3 – 18. This school’s curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England, with modifications to suit the vibrant multi-cultural, international environment of Malaysia. AHIS follows the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for primary students.

In Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), comprising the Nursery and Reception classes, the 3- to 5-year-olds follow the International Primary Curriculum where the curriculum and activities are based on the Early Years Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum for England. This EYFS curriculum covers the prime areas of learning and development namely Communication, Language and Literacy, Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy, Physical Development, Creative Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

English National Curriculum School in Johor

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is central to the learning process, and it is used extensively across all areas of the curriculum. History, Geography, Art, Science, Technology and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) are taught via the International Primary Curriculum and provides for stimulating, inspiring and fun learning across the IPC themes. There are also provisions for Chinese Language, Bahasa Malaysia, Music and physical education or sports.

The thematic IPC programme continues in Key Stage 2 with focus on honing the key learning skills in the foundation areas of Science, History, Geography and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) that will be required at Key Stage 3. Throughout Key Stage 3, the pupils study the core subjects comprising of English, Mathematics, Science, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) along with Geography, History, Music, Drama, PE, Art and three other foreign languages (Malay, Mandarin and French). Meanwhile Agama Islam as a subject is offered to all Muslim students.

The secondary students follow the syllabus of the National Curriculum of England that has been appropriately modified for international education. The Year 10 and Year 11 students take a wide range of subjects within the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).  This gives students a balanced and broad curriculum with qualifications recognised across the world.
