International School in Johor

Fairview International School Johor Bahru (FISJB) was established in 1978 and it offers IB programmes to students from preschool to Year 12. Fairview International School provides a whole suite of IB curriculum. The highly qualified teachers, primarily foreign educated and trained teachers, provide quality education to students from pre-school to year 12, concluding in the widely recognized IB Diploma.

Located in the safe surroundings of the Johor Land Complex in the suburban neighborhood of Bandar Dato ‘ Onn, surrounded by a foliage sea, Fairview Johor has become a tight-knit community school that is easy to access via the North-South Highway and strategically placed in the middle of several large townships.

On 14 January 2008, Fairview International School Johor commenced with around 25 students, 5 teachers but just 1 member of staff. The levels offered at the time were Classes for Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 10. Fairview Johor then adopted the Cambridge International curriculum as a pure CIE centre and trained its students for either the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘ O ‘ Level exams at the culmination of Year 11.

The school follows the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3 to 12 years, the Middle Years Programme for students aged 11 to 16, and Diploma Programme for students aged 16 to 19 years. The aim of these programmes is to motivate students to become responsible, active, and compassionate individuals with a lifelong love for learning. They strive to develop individuals who embrace diversity through respect and understanding.

IB World School in Johor Bahru

The school provides experiential learning in the form of expedition and excursions to local and international destinations. Community and service also form an important part of the school curriculum, encouraging the students to actively participate in different projects such as environmental project, charity events and more. The school has also introduced a Mandarin Programme considering its growing importance in the global sphere.
