Global Indian international school, Kuala Lumpur aims to nurture young minds and transform them into tomorrow’s leaders. Through its skill-based and value-focused teaching, the school strives to create a balance of emphasis on academics and love for extracurriculars.

Sports and arts are introduced early to ensure an appreciation for endeavors outside of the purview of academics. The founders of the school believe an early introduction develops innate creativity within the child, which helps them look for novel solutions and answers.

The school’s steady focus has been on providing excellent, skill-based education at a moderate price. In the past 20 years, this brand of private schools has expanded to seven Asian countries, with 21 campuses. They plan to expand further and realize their goal of providing holistic education to students from diverse backgrounds.

The brand of schools believes in an early exposure to extra curriculars, arts and sports. Taking up leadership, performing arts, entrepreneurship creates a balanced learning environment and makes students into well-rounded individuals. While academics are important at every level, character building qualities like ethics, universal values, discipline and personality development are emphasised in the initial years. Later, academic achievements, entrepreneurship skills, leadership and key competencies for career progression are pushed to ensure that students choose the right career and subjects for themselves.

As students progress through the robust curriculum of the GIIS school, they learn to push their boundaries and continuously expand learning horizons. GIIS create self-aware, well-rounded future citizens who are prepared to handle anything that comes their way.

Alongside well-rounded growth, the school’s steady focus has been on providing excellent, skill-based education at a moderate price. The curriculum combines best of both eastern and western educational approaches and provides a dynamic education environment apt for children from varied cultures. GIIS aims to popularise the 9gems approach for holistic education to students from diverse backgrounds.

Founded in the year 1999, Rosemount International School is a Singapore based private international school that provides Preparatory (early years) and Junior School (primary years) programme for the children.

Kindergarten & Primary International Education

Rosemount presently has five learning levels which include Prep 1, 2, 3 and Grade 1 and Grade 2. Formerly known Rosemount Kindergarten, RIS is an International School that provides a child-centred and inquiry-based curriculum for the early and primary years. The school founders, Alannah and Cheryl Young, provide that personal touch and high level of care that makes their early years students stand out when they move on to the next scholastic level.

Students are encouraged to explore, learn and communicate in a positive and stimulating learning environment. It is an academic institution that holds firm to the practices of instilling a strong desire to learn in their students. Apart from focusing on the area of academics, RIS also educates their students on the importance of exceptional behaviour and character to help them become individuals who can contribute positively to society.

The inquiry-centric academic philosophy motivates students to learn through genuine questioning, discovery, and communication by means of an integrated and interdisciplinary learning methodology. Their central premise of instilling a life-long love of learning in each student, is tested constantly with a developmental system where the teaching and comprehension is coupled with a stimulating and varied curriculum.

Local & International Teachers of Rosemount International School

Being a Prepatory School and Junior School, the class room environment is critical- and the classroom vibe of the Rosemount classroom is safe, secure, and patient with their understanding, yet is challenging and motivating enough to motivate the pupils to push themselves beyond their comfort limits.

The academic body at RIS is well-balanced between local and international teachers. Teachers are well-trained and experienced in Early childhood and Primary education. Their curriculum consists of English, mathematics, science, society and environment, creative arts, health, physical education and personal development. Mandarin is also offered to the children in addition to this. One of the initiative taken by RIS is to organise holiday programmes and after school activities for their students.

The activities coordinated vary from sports, drama, music, dance, art and science. These activities are conducted either in classrooms or learning spaces. They also have a special parent and child programme for the enrolled students from the age group 2 months to 2 years. While playgroup is an opportunity for the children to have new experiences and develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills; for parents, it is a great chance to meet families of other children, develop friendship, share experience and spend quality time with children.

Dover Court International School (also known as DCIS) was established in 1972 and ever since then it has worked its way towards becoming a leading British international school in Singapore, whose main objective is the development of its student’s academic and personal growth.

Nord Anglia International Education

Much like the British International School of Kuala Lumpur in Singapore, the British International School of Kuala Lumpur is a Nord Anglia Education institution. Dover Court International School is a part of Nord Anglia Education which is a group of premium status schools that are located all over the world.

As a Nord Anglia Education facility, DCIS is strongly rooted in the belief that there is no limit to what a student can obtain and that necessary steps should be taken in order to achieve that target such as personalised learning, creativity assessment, challenging educational syllabus as well as global exposure and opportunities.

The educational programme that is adopted by DCIS is based on the English National Curriculum. Through the English National Curriculum, students are provided with a quality learning experience under the guidance of teachers and advisors who has received extensive training and professional development due to their collaboration with Nord Anglia. The school has also now been certified by the Council of International Schools (CIS).

As many families that attend this school will eventually have to move or be transferred to another country, and that is one of the benefits of sending the kids to a Nord Anglia Education institution, as they can be transferred to another suitable school in the country desired.

DCIS presently have a diverse student body made up of over sixty nationalities, between the ages of 3 and 18. While the main language of instruction is English, subjects are also taugh in French, Spanish and Mandarin, which is widely spoken in Singapore and throughout the region.

English International School in Singapore

Dover Court International School has relatively small class sizes for an international school of this size, with a maximum of 22 students per class at the Primary School and Secondary School levels. The experienced faculty members know how to challenge their pupils, inspire ambition within them, and to provide them support in overcoming learning obstacles.

Being a part of the Nord Anglia family also means that DCIS tends to attract the cream of the teaching talent from the region and beyond. Nord Anglia Education also supplies plenty of professional development opportunities to the teaching staff, meaning the educators are constantly learning, being challenged to push themselves and their syllabus, and are providing their students with the latest and most contemporary educational modules and lesson plans.

The school also provides an opportunity for the students to explore the world of music through its collaboration with the renowned Juilliard School. Not only that, its collaboration with MIT introduces an innovative way of learning the STEAM subjects, encouraging experimentation, creativity and application of skills to real world situations.

With more than 14 acres of the school ground, Dover Court International School strives to provide exclusive facilities for the students in order to create a rich learning experience. DCIS ensures that children have large space to play and students are encouraged in to participate in a wide range of sports activities. The school is also equipped with new technology and learning facilities which enhance the teaching and learning quality.

Invictus International School was founded in 2015 by two passionate and experienced technology entrepreneurs. The school describes itself as a forward-looking independent, co-ed, international primary school. The school was created to offer premium education to expat parents at an affordable fee.

Affordable International School Education

Invictus International School provides a quality education in an innovative and inspiring way for individual students, yet affordable in pricing, and focused on their academic goals. The school follows 7 core values with respect to learning – imaginative, innovative, inspiring, investigative, international, interested and individuals.

The school follows the International Primary Curriculum of Singapore for primary students. The International Primary Curriculum, or IPC, is a thematic, comprehensive, and creative curriculum for 6 to 12 years old, with a clear learning outcomes guidelines and transparent specific goals for each subject. The syllabus makes for a strong foundation to learn the values of international mindedness, and for personal learning development.

The IPC course load is completed with rigorous Mathematics, English, and Mandarin to students. The school welcomes students of all nationalities irrespective of race, nationality and creed. The school promotes equal opportunities and provides a fair opportunity for admission.

All of the teaching staff and faculty members have tremendous experience, starting from the principal Alan Campbell who has nearly 40 years of experience in the education field. Yet despite all factors, Invictus International School has some of the most affordable tuition fees, with the payment that can be spread over 5 installments.

International Green Campus in Singapore

The school campus is located in the beautiful green campus on Dempsey Hill, surrounded by a lush rainforest. The surrounding environment is peaceful and natural to ensure students learn in the best possible environment. There is now another campus on Sentosa, where expats can send their Grade 1 and Grade 2 students on the island itself. The Dempsey Hill campus, meanwhile, has begun offering classes for Grades 7 and 8, as of January 2020.

The school believes in creating new opportunities for students. Class sizes are kept small and limited to 25 students per class, to provide personal attention for the whole class, on an individual basis. Invictus International School in fact caters especially for children of expatriates, understanding their unique needs including adapting to a unfamiliar culture and adopting a second, or maybe even third or fourth language.

Invictus International School also offers an opportunity for physical activities, creative arts and assemblies. The school has several playing fields and a sandpit playground. The school strives to be an education provider for every learner and provide them with the best opportunity to flourish. It creates a safe and secure environment where every child is given priority.

Opened in Singapore in 2008, the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) East Campus offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma to an international community of students, with both day and boarding school amenities.

The East Campus is the branch of the United World College, specifically the United World College South East Asia. It is said that the United World College (UWC) spirit is strong at the East Campus as with the Dover campus- with the UWC mission statement driving the educational practices at UWCSEA, with an optimistic sense of energy and a drive to take action.

United World College East Campus near Changi Airport

The campus is located near Tampines, a fast-developing northeastern hub of Singapore, near the Changi Airport. It is home to more than 2,550 students at the last count; with a faculty comprising lecturers and teaching assistants numbering around 249 educators; around 160 boarders within the boarding school life, of which 40 are United World College and UWCSEA National Committee scholars; with people from over 75 nations who speak at least 57 languages. The first batch of students to graduate with the IB Diploma were in 2014.

Although the East Campus is so far only a decade old, for more than 40 years now the UWCSEA has been offering a mission-driven and value-based international education to students, and is recognised as one of the leading international schools in the world. Of the UWCSEA International Baccalaureate cohort of 2019, of the 561 students that sat for the IB Diploma- there was an average IB Diploma score of 36.59 (far exceeding the worldwide IB average of 29.8), with an incredible 161 students receiving 40 or more points, and a 98.6 percent overall pass rate.

Yet despite an impressive record of outstanding academic achievements, UWCSEA does not practice a ‘waiting list’ approach to new student admissions. The UWCSEA curriculum is a concept-based curriculum. This means that from the K1 to Grade 12 stages, each subject is assigned standards which identify key concepts that form the basis for that subject; these standards are then applied at all grades and build in complexity through the Infant, Junior, Middle, and High School years, culminating in the IB Diploma years of Grade 11 and Grade 12.

Outstanding IB World School

Because the foundation of the UWCSEA courses are conceptual in nature, this is useful for students who are joining the school from other countries or varied education systems or upbringing backgrounds. The core concepts of each subject, for example Mathematics or the sciences, are fundamentally the same, and are therefore transferable within the UWCSEA framework.

The school does not compromise on academic as well as personal excellence outside the classroom. The curriculum aims to help build the specific conceptual understanding that is required to build a peaceful and sustainable future, as derived from UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development Goals, with the education goals developed in collaboration with their partners the Ellen Macarthur Foundation.

Unlike the Dover campus which was repurposed and redeveloped from  the Singapore International School that originally opened it’s doors in 1971, the East Campus is a purpose-built campus, recognised for it’s sustainable and universal design concepts.

United World College of South East Asia, East Campus is a CIS/WASC accredited school. Both the campuses have indoor as well as outdoor facilities for sports activities throughout the year. Students can participate in basketball, football, golf, cross country, gymnastics, cricket, swimming and many other developmental, recreational and competitive sports.

Singapore Korean International School is a school approved by Korean and Singapore Governments and offers the Korean Nuri curriculum to students from preschool all the way through secondary levels. Since opening it’s doors in 1993, the school also known as SKIS duly strives to cultivate global talent via a combination of good character and intellect. The school has state of the art facilities for building talent and passion amongst it’s school goers.

Korean School in Singapore

Situated in the area of Bukit Tinggi Road, just in between the Swiss Embassy and the British Club, the SKIS operates as a standard Korean school, albeit with governmental assurance from the Korean and the Singaporean governments. As a Singapore itself is a multilingual nation, even the majority Korean student body must learn to adapt and absorb information and lessons relating to their new surroundings.

Singapore Korean International School aims to achieve three basic visions – Korean identity, global, and local. Cultivating globalised talents with humanity and intelligence, with a strong sense of identity and self-esteem as Koreans, to develop the language and strength of character needed to communicate and become true citizens of the global community, and to aid with building an understanding of Singapore, it’s regional culture, and it’s place in the world at large. English and Chinese classes are also taught as part of the syllabus, from the early stages itself.

The school educates students about the history of Korea, united Korea and Dokdo suffering. The school offers a Korean language course, called the Saturday Hangul School, which teaches the Korean language for local, elementary, and secondary school students from both local and international schools The main purpose is actually to reach out to learners of Korean ancestry and help them improve their language skills, simultaneously helping them to form a closer bond with their Korean roots, as well as Korea’s history and culture.

Exchange Programmes with Singapore Schools

Students can also learn English and Mandarin in this school. The school has numerous exchange programmes with other Singapore schools. This helps in maintaining a local connection with the host country, Singapore. The school has a collaborative homeroom system where students attend classes together with a Korean and a foreign teacher. These classes provide life guidance to students, prepare a study map for them and helps them understand the world better.

SKIS also sports the only Korean book library that is this complete and extensive. There are adult texts as well as books targeted at children, and besides Korean there are also English and Mandarin books, enabling their students taking trilingual subjects to also practice their other languages besides their native tongue in a comfortable atmosphere.

The school also conducts creative experience activities where student’s skills and talent in various activities such as physical education, dancing and art are honed. Apart from academia, students can also learn Taekwondo and traditional play in the school. A Taekwondo instructor visits the school once a week and teaches the art to students. The school also conducts monthly activities to teach students about traditional etiquette, traditional arts, traditional arts and food.

Integrated International School was set up to help children ride the stairway to success. The school strongly believes that a lot of factors contribute to a child’s success. It also believes that no child is the same and therefore provides a personalised learning experience to each student.

This school located in  Clementi Arcade, offers an international education based on the Australian standard curriculum, from Preschool up to Year 10. The school’s belief is that along with a vigorous academic syllabus, young growing learners require a solid socio-emotional curriculum in order to achieve their fullest in an all-rounded, holistic education.

Australian Education in Singapore

The school creates a challenging environment where students create their own definition of success, embracing individuality and in fact, encouraging uniqueness. Lesson plans are adopted to match individual strengths, with the goal of redefining the notion of what students (and parents as well) consider to be success, by emphasising the child’s own strengths, talents, and natural abilities- while simultaneously cultivating a life-long love of learning.

Speaking of parents, the bespoke and inclusive manner that Integrated International School is run, means that the parents needs are heard, along with the students’. Families can book a tour with the school’s admissions team, and along with the admission process will be a family interview, if necessary. This is because the Integrated International School believes in educating the child, the family, and the community too- so for that reason they require the presence of both parents if possible, along with the prospective student, for the interview process.

This highly personalised approach is because this relatively new international school- founded in 2009 by leading Asian child expert Dr Vanessa von Auer- does not subscribe to the “one size fits all” learning philosophy, instead offering two experiential teaching/learning journeys: firstly the mainstream approach to indoctrinating the Australian curriculum, or secondly the mainstream approach with individualised support.

Individualised International School

Experiencing both approaches in tandem means that each student receives the diversified and individualised learning experience that each child deserves, celebrating each person’s uniqueness while providing the adequate support to excel. High teacher-to-student ratios are extremely helpful in this regard, allowing for that personal attention and empowering the children to respond independently as well.

In the primary school, the teacher-to-student ratio is 1:4, while in the secondary school the ratio is 1:6 which makes the classes small enough and flexible enough to interests and learning preferences of each student. The school’s Support Services can readily supply Individualised Education Plans (also known as IEPs) upon request; and also arrange for other learning support services such as behavioural counselling, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, social skills training, and more.

Integrated International School supports each child in their learning curve and gives students the opportunity to emerge as great human beings. The school follows a vision to change the way success is defined in Singapore by providing a holistic education. It provides tailored mainstream educational experience with a global perspective and creates a supportive learning environment to suit individual student’s styles. It follows three core values – kindness and respect, community and redefining success.

Although the school’s facilities are not as vast as many international schools, it offers purpose-built facilities which have been designed keeping students in mind. It creates a warm and safe environment where students love to learn and grow. The school uses surrounding community spaces and has a beautiful green outdoor area. Indoor facilities include a one-of-a-kind multi-sensory ocean snoezelen room, an indoor jungle gym, and private suits for support staff.

ISS International School, or just known as ISS, is unique in its approach of delivering the programmes. It ensures the success of each of its students by providing a learning environment that nurtures the students individually while building upon their specific needs, interests and abilities in different spheres.

The school’s mission is to supply a multicultural educational environment for their student population to achieve scholastic success and personal growth, while still becoming socially responsible citizens of the world. To this end, ISS empowers her students towards reaching their aspirations by providing them with an inclusive, supportive environment on their campuses.

International School of Singapore

Founded in 1981 as the International School of Singapore, ISS has offered a bespoke international educational experience for three decades, and is now welcoming students to their Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is from Early Years to Grade 5, followed by their Middle Years Programme (MYP) which is Grades 6 – 10, and finally the IB Diploma Programme from Grade 11 to Grade 12.

The ISS school’s approach to curriculum is planning and delivering a student needs centred approach in a dynamic pattern, in order to capture and hold the students’ attention, and to develop further understanding. The educators at ISS create individual student strategies to help them strive both academically and emotionally.

The low teacher-child ratio ensures that learning is customised according to the specific needs of the students by creating individual strategies to help them achieve academic and personal excellence. According to the Head of School, ISS is the most established three programme IB World School in the country of Singapore.

In addition to the IB programme that is offered at ISS International School Singapore, the institution also emphasises on extra curricular activities for the all-round development of the students. ISS Preston & Paterson Campus

ISS Preston campus is located on a beautiful hilltop which is just a 15 mins drive from the Paterson campus. The serene natural environment of the place is balanced with a holistic curriculum for the all round development of the students.

ISS Preston, encourages the high school students to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities in the areas of creativity, activity and service. These include creativity clubs like aquarium club, Mandarin club, film making club, TEDx; activities like basketball, tennis, dance, baseball and badminton; and service activities like Relay for life, Rainbow charity and Lakeside family centre.

Students attending the Preston Campus will benefit from the array of facilities that the campus houses such as sports facilities, classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, computer laboratories that are fitted with state of the art desktops, multimedia technology such as projectors and screens to be used in the teaching and learning process.

This school was one of the first international schools of all in Singapore, founded by the current school Chairman Mr Chan See Cheng, who was a former statesman with a deep rooted love of learning, and who strongly believed in the importance of a good education. His vision for an inclusive international school withing a bustling cosmopolitan district led to the formation of the school that is now ISS, with a current day student population comprised of more than 50 nationalities.

Formerly known as Singapore International School, United World College Dover Campus (UWCSEA) is strongly rooted in the belief that education should embrace all divides, whether race, religion, culture, economic circumstances, or history. Founded in Singapore in 1971, United World College Dover Campus is the first school to offer International Baccalureate (IB) Diploma in all of Asia. UWCSEA has been offering the IB Diploma since at least 1977.

United World College Dover Boarding School in Singapore

The spacious and modern campus houses more than 3000 students, including nearly 200 boarding school students as well (as UWCSEA is a boarding school as well as a day campus), of which around fifty students are United World College (UWC) or UWCSEA National Committee scholars, and over three hundred teachers from all over the world, many of whom have been a part of the United World College family for almost six years.

For more than 40 years now, UWCSEA has been offering a mission-driven and value-based international education to students, and is recognised as one of the leading international schools in the world. Of the UWCSEA International Baccalaureate class of 2019, of the 561 students that sat for the IB Diploma- there was an average IB Diploma score of 36.59 (far exceeding the worldwide IB average of 29.8), with an incredible 161 students receiving 40 or more points, and a 98.6 percent overall pass rate.

Yet despite these outstanding academic achievements, UWCSEA does not practice a ‘waiting list’ approach to new student admissions.
