Founded in 2005, the Jakarta Multicultural School is located in the green Situ Gintung area South of Jakarta, providing abundant open spaces and clean air away from the crowded city. The school advocate for inclusive education whereby everyone including learners with special needs is given equal opportunities to discover and enhance their potentials as individuals.
The school’s vision is to support a culture of creativity and collaboration by providing facilities that allow students to express their best potentials The school provides a learning environment that broadens the learner’s understanding to recognize and accept different cultures and belief systems. Also, students are guided and supported in their learning journeys as they independently explore and seek the truth and relevance of their learnings. Jakarta Multicultural School offers education from early years until the diploma programme while using both International Baccalaureate and Cambridge International Curriculum. The Early Years program focuses on nurturing our learners’ creative and curious minds in discovering themselves and the world around them through exploration and experiential learning.
The school implements the Cambridge curriculum from Pre-school to Year 5. A special emphasis is placed on treating learners as individuals, acknowledging their different needs and facilitating the development of the student as a whole. Different learning support programmes such as English Language Support programme and remedial classes are provided to assist every learner to overcome their weaknesses and difficulties. Moving on to Secondary programme (Grades 6 to 10), the school uses the Cambridge International Examination (CIE), whereby learners earn the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) after completing Grade 10. This helps prepares our learners a solid foundation for their Junior College (Years 11 and 12) academic work requirements where prepare students into acceptance into the premier academic institutions of their choice for their university studies. The school is equipped with spacious Libraries (Main, Primary and Early Years), Laboratories (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and IT) , a Music Centre, an Art Room, a Performance Theater and interactive-classrooms which support creative teaching and learning. The school also offers extensive sport facilities like a soccer field, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor playground, and the Sports Hall which houses the Basketball, Badminton and Futsal courts, and a Running Track.
