Kellet School Pok Fu Lam Preparatory

The Kellet School Pok Fu Lam Prepatory is a British International School that was established over 40 years ago. The school aims to provide high quality education for the English speaking community in Hong Kong. The statement of the school is to inculcate “a love of learning and confidence for life by providing challenge, offering opportunity and entrusting responsibility”.

To this day, this historic academic institution remains a wholly parent owned, not-for-profit school following the English National Curriculum for education, maintaining some of the highest quality standards and expectations in line with other respected British independent schools.

This private school has two campuses: the Kellet School Pok Fu Lam Prepatory on Hong Kong Island, and the Kellet School Kowloon Bay on the other side of the harbour in the New Territories. The school aims to the pre eminent international school option in Hong Kong that offers the internationally recognised UK standards of excellence, expecting of each of it’s students to commit to achieving personal excellence, building transferable skills, cultivating well-being, and developing a global outlook.

British International School in Hong Kong

The school was founded in 1976 as a not-for-profit academic institution by British parents who wished to provide a high quality, English-style education to the like minded community that was prevalent in Hong Kong at the time. Today, the Kellett British International School in Hong Kong, educates in excess of 3000 students aged between four and 18 years old, in the English National Curriculum.

The curriculum taught is broad and has produced outstanding public examination results, while at the same time coupled with an extensive range of extra-curricular activities that is helping round all students from the Reception classes right up to the A-Level and IGCSE stages.

As one of the leading independent international schools, Kellet has become a place for students to experience learning in an environment that stimulates them to think creatively and independently. The Kellet School Pok Fu Lam campus in the Southern Hong Kong city of Wah Fu opened it’s doors in 1980. The two buildings are named  ‘Mountain Wing’ and ‘Ocean Wing’, for Mount Kellet and Kellet Bay respectively, which are located around the school’s premises.

UK National Curriculum in HK

Kellett School practises the British Curriculum and it offers opportunities for students to transfer to and from British International Schools worldwide, as well as private US and Australasia schools.

Kellet school provides the latest facilities for teaching and learning to be carried out with enthusiasm and commitment with hopes that the students enjoy learning in the school. There is an amazing array of facilities within this relatively small sized campus including the spacious multipurpose auditorium, the gym, a well stocked library, plus fully equipped dance studio, drama studio, well equipped ICT and science labs, art studio SEN learning support base, language lab, and even a childrens’ bookshop.

There is also a large indoor space for Reception and Year 1 age children to gather and play and take part in group activities. All of this in addition an Astroturf play area, ‘adventure’ playground, a nice garden, as well as a vegetable patch which allows for sports, recreational play, and other open learning activities.
