International School of Chonburi was opened in 2009 with a vision to create an early years school inspired by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia. The school wanted to create a natural setting that helped students make a smooth transfer from home to school. The school follows a mission to foster a community of active and reflective learners who are informed and confident. Therefore, the students embrace sustainability and cultural diversity and grow as successful individuals while building a strong relationship with other students, teachers, and parents. The school has an environment of open communication to encourage honesty.
The International School of Chonburi recognises the individuality of each child and involves them in activities to accommodate personal growth in their learning. Teachers follow a creative curriculum where students’ interests are kept in the centre. The curriculum focuses on four areas of development – cognitive, language, social/emotional and physical. Each student plays an equal role in the school and learns through open-ended activities and investigations.
The school classes are divided into two stages – early years and primary years. In the early years, personal, emotional and social development, communication and language and physical development are focused. In the primary years, various subjects such as literacy, numeracy, history, geography and others are taught.
