Founded in 2011, The International School at ParkCity (ISP) is located in the award-winning township of Desa ParkCity in Kuala Lumpur. The new Early Years Centre (opened in September 2016) is a purpose-built facility catering for students aged 3 – 5 years old. The vibrant and age-appropriate learning spaces include large open-plan indoor spaces and exciting outdoor spaces including a sandpit, bike track, an adventure playground and mini jungle trail and a garden. The indoor areas are well equipped to provide endless learning experiences, all of which are complemented by carefully planned technology, including interactive multi-touch panels and iPads.
The primary school is divided into early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. For the nursery and reception, ISP follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum from the UK. The Key Stage 1 comprises Year 1 and 2, and Key Stage 2 comprises students from Year 3 to 6. Both the stages follow the International Primary Curriculum and the National Curriculum for England in English and Mathematics.
The Secondary school of The International School at Parkcity is divided into Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to 9), Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11) and Sixth Form. Students follow the National Curriculum for England in Year 7,8 and 9. In Year 10 and 11, they follow the IGCSE curriculum which is widely recognised throughout the world. The curriculum in the Sixth Form (Year 12 and 13) is based on both Cambridge international programmes and AQA. This prepares the students for the leading universities across the world.
Throughout the year, The International School at ParkCity offers various co-curricular activities through various clubs and teams representing the diverse interests of the students. The co-curricular activities in sports, arts, music and other areas aim to help the students gain new experiences, build relationships with fellow students and teachers who share the same interest, develop confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
ISP has multiple spaces on-campus and off-campus (with access to the ParkCity club amenities) for different sports and PE lessons, such as the multi-purpose hall, astroturf pitch, roof-top games areas, additional sports hall, swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts, lap pool and fun pool as well as the FIFA-size football field, athletics facilities and basketball courts.
