International Primary & Secondary School

Repton International School follows an inquiry-based approach to learning. Our curriculum is based around the highly successful and child-centred International Primary Curriculum (IPC), with Primary School education starting from Grade 1 to Grade 5, for children between the age of 6 and 10 years old. It is a comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for personal learning and for international mindedness. Excelsior further strengthens the curriculum with the use of the Cambridge International Primary Curriculum framework for Literacy and Numeracy.

The learning goals of the primary curriculum are split into three age bands – Milepost 1 for Kindergarten to Grade 1; Milepost 2 for Grade 2 to Grade 3; and Milepost 3 for Grade 4 to Grade 5. Within each age band, there are three strands of Learning Goals: Subject Goals, Personal Goals and International Goals. Subjects include History, Geography, Science, Art, Design, Information Technology (IT), Physical Education (PE), Music and Society. Through the units of work, links are made to the host and home countries.

Building on the strong foundation of the Primary School programme, students at the Secondary School level begin to refine their skills, training for future successes. In the Secondary School, Repton International School offers the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP) from Grade 6 to Grade 8, and the Cambridge International Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Grade 9 and 10.
