Sinarmas World Academy provides an international education experience that aims to achieve Academic Excellence. The school was opened in July 2008 and the first cohort of Grade 12 students graduated in June 2012.
The school prepares each student for a lifetime of academic success through the development of adaptable 21st-century approaches to learning. The school’s vision is to shape the future as a dynamic learning community that embraces Asia and engages globally.
In their mission statement, the school is willing to strive for excellence through holistic development, actively engage in the learning community with a winning mindset, and strongly embrace Asian values to build sound character.
The school offers 4 different levels of education, early years, elementary school, middle school and high school. Offering an engaging Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the UK, students develop different aspects of themselves physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
Incorporates the Cambridge Curriculum within a framework that promotes an inquiry-based approach to learning. SWA has built exclusive partnerships and exchange programmes with Peking University Elementary School and other institutions in Korea and Japan.
For elementary level, the school provides a world-class curriculum to develop students’ skills and understanding that is aligned with the school’s goal to achieve Academic Excellence. The school also incorporates the Cambridge curriculum to ensure the fundamental knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding needed to prepare students for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and IB Diploma Programme (DP).
The middle school level also follows similarly till they reach Grade 9 where they begin their journey to Secondary level of education. In order to better prepare their students for their intended career pathways and entry to IB Diploma Programme (DP) course selections, the school developed a Business, Engineering, Science & Technology (BEST) ‘streaming’ programme starting in Grade 9 while also building pathways to enable students to study subjects that suit their interests and long-term career goals.
