While their mission, as Royal Primary Academy inspires a passion for learning, encourages opportunities for leadership and equips students with 21st century skills by engaging them in a balanced, international standard curriculum while working in partnership with families. Royal Tots Academy opened with 10 students at The Kuningan Place in South Central Jakarta in 2010.

Adapt, Collaborate, & Innovate

The school believes that each learner is unique and actively engage students in rigorous learning experiences that challenge them at their development levels, focusing on fundamental knowledge and skills, as well as pushing the students to adapt, collaborate, and innovate. Teachers teach in a holistic approach to education, meaning that as a school, we aim to develop the whole child, not simply focusing on core academic subjects.

As sole focus for the primary students, Royal Primary Academy adopts the International Primary Curriculum (IPC)-  one of the fastest-growing curricula in the world today for adolescent academics. It is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum for 3-12 year olds, with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal learning.

International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in Royal Primary Academy

Learning with the IPC takes a global approach; helping children to connect their learning to where they are living now as well as looking at the learning from the perspective of other people in other countries. This programme has been developed with the objective of achieving four main aims to help children learn the subject knowledge, skills and understandings they need to become aware of the world around them;  to help children develop the personal skills they need to take an active part in the world throughout their lives; to help children develop an international mindset alongside their awareness of their own nationality and culture; and to do each of these in ways which take into account up-to-date research into how children learn and how they can be encouraged to be life-long learners.

IPC also focuses on 8 personal goals which  are abilities and characteristics that children will need to equip them for an ever-changing world. These personal goals are: adaptability, communication, cooperation, enquiry, morality, resilience, respect and thoughtfulness.

The school’s facilities are spread over 4 purpose-built floors of the Kuningan Place apartment. Furthermore, RPA can also make use of multiple of the apartment’s facilities such as a 30-metre swimming pool, gym, dance hall, restaurant and lobby
