APU is a member of the College Board and is authorized to offer a variety of programmes such as SAT, Advanced Placement, PSAT and the ACT exams. The school follows three basic values – Academic Excellence, Empowerment and Social Responsibility.
Established in 2004, APU American International School Ho Chi Minh City Middle & High School caters to students in the middle school and secondary levels. Students can either join this school directly, or move on to this school, after attending APU American International School – Elementary School. Middle school students are motivated to develop their individual strengths and learn intellectual, social and physical skills.
Students learn critical aspects like logical reasoning, communication and ideation by studying different subjects. The school understands that each child has a different learning speed and the curriculum is designed keeping this in mind.
In the high school level, the curriculum is modelled to prepare the students for entering any university in the United States of America. The pedagogy follows the American system closely, ensuring that the students are able to match the competition at a university level. Students are taught four core subjects – Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Science and Science. Students also learn computer science to keep up with the ongoing digitisation.
