Straits International School Penang (SIS) is a conveniently located school with modern facilities. The school follows the British National Curriculum and caters to students from kindergarten up to secondary levels.

SIS hires both foreign and local teachers who are certified in teaching the British Cambridge curriculum, and are experienced in teaching the coursework in various countries around the world. All the form tutors and Heads of Year are expatriates and they actively teach English, various Humanities subjects such as World History and Geography, as well as some of the other selected subjects as per their individual expertise.
The school imparts service-based learning including a variety of project work which teaches students to be independent thinkers. Students participate in a number of presentations, group work and research which keeps them engaged all the time.
Straits International School has customised education for students of different cultural background. All Malaysian students study Bahasa Malaya, Malaysian History and Moral Studies. All students have to compulsorily study Mandarin, either as a first or as a second language. All Muslim students are taught Islamic Tuition. The school offers IGCSE to students of secondary school level. The curriculum is globalised to meet the requirements of the Asian setting.
Apart from the curriculum, the school also concentrates on the development of the students’ personal, social, health, education, art, information, communication technology, music, drama, speech and a host of other associated skills. Straits International School offers a host of facilities to students such as a library, science and computer laboratory, music studio, multipurpose hall, swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court, cafeteria and playground.

The campus is well-featured with CCTV surveillance both inside and outside of the building, as well as 24 hours a day security guard patrol to ensure all areas are monitored all the time.
