SmartKids International Kindergarten Tran Ngoc Dien helps students find opportunities for development in every aspect of their lives and develop enthusiasm as the foundation for learning.

Smartkids provides a play-based based curriculum for toddlers and preadolescent from ages starting eighteen months up to six years old, separated into three age groups. There is another SmartKids kindergarten in Ho Chi Minh City, known as SmartKids International Kindergarten Thao Dien.

The school’s mission is to encourage, support, and nurture the students’ love for learning by providing inspiring, exciting, and hands-on experiences on a regular basis, allowing students to deal with common daily situations and events. It focuses on the holistic development of each child and combines philosophies such as crafted by Montessori, Steiner, and Reggio Emilia into their North European inquiry-based programme.

The kindergarten offers flexible programs with a minimum of 3 mornings up to a full-day for kids 18 months up to 3.5 years old while the “big kids” or kindergarten groups (between 3.5 years to 6 years old) have between 5 mornings to 5 full-day programs with the possibility of extending the day after school activities. Each class is fully complemented composed of a maximum of 18 children, 1 foreign early childhood specialist, and 3 assistants.

To kick off the learning journey at the Kiddies preschool level, a major focus point would be the development of creativity, self-expression, social emotional skills, as well as motor skills. The qualified, experienced overseas teachers will guide the young learners through a playful, exciting, and uplifting learning atmosphere and is strongly influenced by a north European play-based approach that focuses heavily on addressing both the development of the ‘whole’ child holistically and the needs of the individual child.

Preschool to Kindergarten Classes

The SmartKids International Kindergarten Tran Ngoc Dien provides parents’ with a handbook that contains pertinent information about the children’s day at the school. It also indicates the school’s rules and philosophy to help parents understand their children’s education better.

Aside from school activities, students are also given some quiet time. After eating their carefully prepared nutritious lunch, the children are lulled into a nap using mats, comforters, blankets, and pillows provided to each of them while the teaching staff supervises.
