Cempaka International Ladies’ College (sometimes referred to as CILC) is a part of the Cempaka Schools Malaysia, a trail blazing group of international schools in the country. Cempaka Schools Malaysia was originally founded in 1983, when Dato’ Freida Pilus started the first Cempaka School in a rented bungalow to provide the best possible education for her sons. Today, besides Cempaka International Ladies’ College there are also the co-educational academic institutions Cempaka International School Damansara Heights and Cempaka International School Cheras.
This school is one of the leading secondary residential schools for girls in Malaysia, which follows the UK-based Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB – DP) and Global Assessment Certificate (GAC).
The stunningly beautiful campus lies in the tranquil community of Bandar Enstek in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. CILC aims to create a modern, twenty first century study environment in an Asian setting, where cultural understanding, communication, critical thinking, information literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship, environmental responsibility, global awareness, media skills, arts appreciation and design are interdisciplinary themes merged with a progressive formal curriculum in tandem with a healthy and diverse extra curricular learning environment.
Students from Years 7 to 11 are offered the UK-oriented Cambridge International Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSEs) along with IB-DP and GAC programme. The class sizes are intentionally kept low in between 10 to 20 students to provide individual attention to each student.
While the IB-DP programme is taught over two years and is academically challenging, the Cempaka International Ladies’ College provides all the necessary assistance for a successful university life for each student. The IB-DP syllabus is well balanced with final examinations for the students, normally aged 16 to 19, for the rigours of post school, pre university structure.
GAC, on the other hand, is a university prepatory programme which equips students with the right knowledge base and the skills that subsequently supplies the confidence to enter the top universities across the world. Successful completion of the GAC is an approved route towards a bachelor degree at one of the many GAC Pathway Universities in the USA, Australia, Canada, UK, and other countries worldwide
The elegant surroundings, state-of-the-art facilities and focused education of Cempaka International Ladies’ College provides an intimate, cultured, and nurturing setting designed to guide young girls into becoming intelligent, poised, and discerning young ladies, with the associated good manners to match.
The school has garnered a number of awards and recognitions over the years. It is the first Apple Distinguished school in South Asia. The school also offers a number of extra-curricular activities to students including speech, drama, music, swimming and water polo. Some of the other enviable facilities include the cosy classrooms, laboratories, dining hall, tennis courts, climbing walls, the horse training Equine Centre, MasterChef Kitchen, indoor running track, art gallery, the Think Centre reading and study area, and the residential twin sharing rooms for the boarders.
