Established in 1995, Global Jaya School has a history of growth and positive change as well as offering a quality international education programme. The curriculum was based on the national system of Indonesia and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
During years 2004 to 2006, the school established an international curriculum and worked diligently to become authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) which now the school offers International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma programmes.
The school facilitates the development of lifelong learners who are creative problem solvers with a broad perspective of the world around them. The school also wants to develop respectful, moral individuals who take pride in their national heritage and are equipped to participate in the international community as team members and leaders.
The school’s mission is to provide experiences through knowledge and skills necessary to encourage problem-solving, cater to individual learning needs and a range of learning styles, develop students’ communication skills to actualise their academic potential in both English and Bahasa Indonesia or their mother tongue and to deliver and enrich an internationally accredited curriculum within an Indonesian context.
The school offers students education levels from 4 years old until 18 years old using the International Baccalaureate curriculum. Beginning from the primary level, the school focuses on student learning, using a unique inquiry-based approach. Students continually reflect on their learning in relation to what is happening inside and outside the classroom.
The curriculum also encourages students to develop independence and take responsibility for their own learning, as well as strive to understand their role in the local and global context. On the Middle Years level, the course is designed with coherent and comprehensive curriculum framework which allows students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to participate effectively with the changing demands of life in the twenty-first century.
This programme provides young people with an education for life and teaches them to relate the learning content of the classroom to the realities of the world outside. The school also offers IB Diploma Programme as well where the school prepare students for tertiary studies, foster critical thinking skills, encourage cultural understanding and respect and develop international awareness and broaden perspectives.
Global Jaya School also offer facilities for students such as Early Year’s buildings, outdoor play areas, a swimming pool, library, computer laboratory, swimming pool, football field, tennis court and use of a multi-purpose gymnasium.
