British School Jakarta

Established initially in the city centre, British School Jakarta open its doors in 1974. The current campus was opened in part by their Royal Britannic Highnesses Prince Edward and Prince Andrew. Its architectural style gives tribute to Indonesian heritage, while also prioritising the needs of the modern-day learner.

The school provides education from as young as 3 years old until 18 years old. For the young ones ages from 3 years to 6 years old, these are the years in which students develop the skills necessary for school readiness and the school follows the Kindergarten Curriculum for England.

As they moved to Primary level, students are facilitated by its excellent teachers, allows this to happen whilst embedding core knowledge, skills and understanding into each child.

Secondary students continue their development and application of skills learnt from primary through inspiring and challenging lessons ensuring that students graduating from secondary school can continue to flourish and reach their potential far beyond school. Students continue to learn to form and maintain positive social relationships and the importance of teamwork while also embracing skills such as reflect on their learning, to think critically and to share their thinking in innovative and creative ways.

British School Jakarta has well-equipped facilities catered to all students of all ages. There is a theatre complex which includes two stages, a dance studio, and rehearsal and makeup rooms. The school even has five tennis courts; extensive grass and artificial playing fields; covered areas for games; and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. There is also a dedicated Sports Centre with different types of courts like basketball, volleyball and badminton; a gym and weights room; and a dance studio.
