Al Jabr Islamic School

Al Jabr Islamic School was established in 2004 with only 25 students that initially to provide a stable income in sustaining our orphanage. The school is now proud to provide students an education with an International standard and hope to keep growing with fresh students joining in.

Respect for Islamic Values

The school’s mission is to provide a high-quality education, for the community of learners to develop and maximize their potential through active, life-long learning and experiences. This approach aims to enable them to become well-rounded individuals intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in creating a better world with respect for Islamic values both in Indonesia and internationally.

Al Jabr Islamic School offers education from as young as 3 years old up to 18 years old. Beginning with Primary year, inquiry-based learning is the core methodology used in International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme where it considers what is significant, relevant, and engaging for the students.

Students learn best when they are actively engaged in their own learning by investigating issues after formulating their own questions and then proceeding with research, experimentation, observation and analysis that will help them to find solutions.

Learning How to Learn in Al Jabr Islamic School

As they progress to Middle years, students are making the transition from early puberty to mid-adolescence, which is a crucial period of personal, social and intellectual development, of uncertainty and questioning. The programme develops the intellectual discipline, attitudes, strategies and skills which will result in critical, coherent and independent thought and the capacity for problem solving and decision making.

It goes far beyond study skills, having to do with “learning how to learn” and with developing an awareness of thought processes and their strategic use. As for high school level, the school prepares students for further education coping to national courses of study for 16–18 year olds with international-mindedness culture and ethos. The High School is accredited by the Indonesia Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) in 2016. The programme describes what a student should know, understand, or be able to practice at each stage of their learning in each subject.
