Tenby International School Ipoh was first established in 1960 by British expatriates who wanted their children to receive high-quality education based on the British system. The school started as an expatriate kindergarten that became an international school, Tenby International School (TIS), Ipoh, which later expanded to include a private Malaysian school, Sekolah Tenby. The school is also the first school in the group to offer the Cambridge International A-Level Programme since 2010, alongside the other curricula on the same campus. In September 2013, the school moved to its new purpose-built campus in Bandar Meru Raya, Ipoh.
