Sri Kuala Lumpur School strives to establish itself as an outstanding institution providing excellent education to students who can meet the challenges of the 21st century. The primary school of Sri Kuala Lumpur is founded by an educator-Tan Sri Dato ‘ Ir. Othman Merican, and a circle of associates in an older bungalow on Jalan Nipah, Kuala Lumpur. Classes started with an initial enrollment of 6 pupils, and were assisted by the late Mrs. Siew Pick Yoke as well as a dedicated teaching team.

Sri KL has since been recognised as an outstanding institution providing excellent quality education that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century.  The mission of the school is to develop students to their fullest extent and endow them with positive mental habits, spiritual perseverance and moral tethers to become effective individuals and productive citizens.

The philosophy of Sri Kuala Lumpur School so far has been to continue providing all students with a well-rounded and comprehensive education, highlighting strong community values and work ethic while at the same time encouraging students to excel academically.

International School in Klang Valley

Sri Kuala Lumpur is ideally located on 5.7 acres of prime land in the heart of Subang Jaya on Jalan SS15/7A. The school takes a non-elitist approach to education where all students are given the same opportunities and are subject to the same framework of discipline and respect for their peers. Since January 2010, the school has operated as a not-for-profit foundation.

The primary school curriculum is tied to school-related subjects that will accomplish Malaysian educational aspirations in the Cambridge Primary (CP) Programme. The IGCSE program of Sri KL secondary school is supplied by the consortium of the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). In January 2010, Sri KL Primary School adopted the Cambridge Exam Syndicate’s Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) beginning with Years 1 and 2.

The Board of Governors is also fully independent with no affiliations to any political party, organization or society and has only the welfare and development of the school as its focus. To quote the Chairman of the Board of Governors, the school’s philosophy has always been to provide a well-rounded and complete education for Sri KL students, emphasizing strong community values and discipline whilst at the same time encouraging our students to excel academically.
