Oasis International School Kuala Lumpur offers an American curriculum to students from kindergarten to 12th Grade. It strives to provide a personalised learning experience to the students supported by US-certified teachers, a holistic approach and excellent technology. The core values of OIS include character, leadership and innovation and it aims to inculcate a love for learning both inside and beyond the classroom. It caters to the needs of students in elementary school, middle school and high school. The curriculum is well balanced and students are encouraged to develop creative and critical thinking by including hands-on activities and courses that challenge them to think.
The elementary school at OIS consists of students from kindergarten to Grade 5. The optimum student-teacher ratio is maintained to meet the individual needs of every child. The maximum capacity for kindergarten is 15 children per class and 25 children per class from Grade 1-5, Middle School and High School. The elementary school curriculum focuses on the holistic development of the child. Middle school consists of students from Grade 6-8. It builds upon their knowledge and social skills, preparing them for the next level. Students are observed on a daily basis in a very informal and low-pressure way, helping the teachers to understand and address their problems in a better way. Students are also evaluated through structured and formal assessments and tests.
High School consists of students from 9-12th grade and the curriculum prepares the students for entry into university. OIS also provides Advanced Placement program where students are provided with university-level courses which help them to gain an edge over others. The college counsellors also advise and help the students in their university applications. OIS considers technology as an important part of the learning process. Every student is required to attend the Technology Induction Program to learn the appropriate use of technology. Elementary and Middle school students have access to iPads and computer labs whereas high students have access to Macbooks and iPads.
Students can take part in different extracurricular activities such as the Sports Program and Visual and Performing arts. The Sports Program at OIS consists of Rugby, Soccer, Cross-country, Crossfit, basketball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.
